2016 BCAC Football Jersey Night
The 2016 BCAC Shamrocks Football program held their annual Jersey Night event on Friday, September 9th. BCAC Memorial Field was packed with players, parents and members of the community. The event started with Father Richard Ahlemeyer blessing the players for a safe season and reminding them of sportsmanship along with competing. This year the Shamrocks dedicated their 2016 season to the loving memory of two BCAC members who passed away during the past year. John Wagner and Dawn McIntyre were big BCAC supporters and past BCAC presidents, Mr. Wagner was the 1st BCAC president. The Wagner and McIntyre families attended as their loved ones were honored for their support of the BCAC and Broad Channel community.
The BCAC Shamrocks Football program introduced a new addition to Jersey Night, “The Ring of Honor”. Each year a small committee will induct past BCAC Shamrock Football players/coaches who possessed a rare combination of talent and characteristics including Character, Gratitude, Vision, Passion, Courage and Competitive Spirit, when joined together form the BCAC Shamrocks Football Ring of Honor. This year 5 inductees were introduced in a ceremony that included signs of their jersey hanging on the big fence at BCAC Memorial Field.
