The BCACC Opening Day Parade and Ceremony for Baseball/Softball was held on Saturday, April 22nd at 9:30 am. Athletes from the BCAC Baseball, Softball and In-house leagues gathered for the annual parade to kick-off the season. Festivities began at the 17th Road Park where the marchers met with their teams and coaches and then proceeded to walk through Broad Channel to the BCAC Memorial Field. The Color Guard from the American Legion led the parade, followed by Assemblywoman Stacey Pheffer Amato, Councilwoman Joann Ariola, and Queens Borough President Donovan Richards Jr. The Broad Channel Volunteer Fire Department helped guide the parade and the community of athletes and parents down Cross Bay Boulevard to the field. The day continued with bouncy rides and games for the kids. The Assemblywoman, Councilwoman and QBP Richards together with Broad Channel Civic Association President Dan Mundy, all threw out the first pitches of the season. Thanks to all who participated in this wonderful tradition, and we hope our teams have a successful season!
